When I was younger, my dog, Rex, got caught in a beaver trap, down by the river near our house in Buckley. He was missing for three days.

I think the trapper must have found him and set him free, for he limped home badly injured from the affair.

We didn't have any money to repair the poor animal, so we took him into the Humane Society in Tacoma, and they patched him up for us.

This is why I am a big supported and fan of the Humane Society. I never miss the change to support them and their event, the Dog O Thon.

It will be on July 21, this year. Last year we raised over $120,000 to help save homeless animals .
